my younger brother has always been a bit of a goofball. he was never a super great student throughout high school and college and has a tendency to fart at you, laugh and walk away. my family was pleasantly surprised when he passed all his cpa exams on the first try and most of the were in the 90th percentile (excuse me while i brag a little). he found an accounting job and has been at it for about a year and a half. we could all tell that it wasn't his dream job but in this economy we felt he was lucky to have it and it was good experience. my brother lives at home and my parents could tell that he wasn't happy. yesterday my sister and i got the news that he quit his job on monday and is going back to school. nursing school that is. i think this is just amazing. i'm so proud of him. it takes a lot of guts to completely change the path that you're on. going back to school is going to take time and a bit of cash. he told my mom that three more years of school for another bachelors is a small price to pay for a lifetime of doing what makes him happy. when he was studying for his cpa exams he started working out as a release. he says that his workout is now the highlight of his day and he wants to work with the body and not sit at a desk all day. medical school or physical therapy school were going to take too long and he said that when he was in college he would be jealous of his friends in nursing. as i said above, he is a bit of a goofball but he's also really sensitive and i think this is going to be a great fit. i'm always proud that he's my brother but today i'm just bursting!
How wonderful! Such exciting news for him! I'm so happy to hear that he's going back to school :) And hopefully this will be a better fit for him.
