in review: the weekend

to be honest i spent a lot of time in the horizontal position on my couch.  king louie and i cleared out the dvr catching up on the river, alcatraz, jeopardy and numerous house hunters internationals.  on saturday i had a first however.  i made my very first batch of pancakes.  i can't believe i've never made them before.  in the name of being lazy, we use this:

just add water!

i know i basically overpaid for flour but all we add to do was add water, we didn't dirty any dishes and there was an easy pour spout.  all good things in my book.  i was a little nervous to pour and flip because i was a novice.  there was no reason to worry.  i was a pancake flipping natural. add some sausage and breakfast for dinner was a delicious change.

we also watched the girl with the dragon tattoo.  king louie and i both read the book and really enjoyed it.  the movie was really good if you don't mind the dark and twisted.  luckily i'm both dark and twisted.  rooney mara was amazing and the movie while long had a good pace to it.  it was well over two hours and i'm not a big fan of long movies (or movies in general really) but i managed to stay awake and didn't need any breaks.  i liked it so much that i asked king louie when the girl who played with fire was coming out.  i was so disappointed to hear that it wasn't green lighted yet because the first one didn't do well.  i'm almost done with the book and would love to see it on the big screen.  fingers crossed that they get the a-ok to film it.

sunday was a day of reading, going to church and watching the bunnies return to the backyard.  i love rabbits and am honored that they make our yard their home.  i think they're getting ready for their easter bunny duties and spring.  i know i am!

  1. I hope they get the OK for the 2nd The Girl movie too. I read the first book like 2 years ago and I love them all. But I could see how they might be complicated to make into a screenplay just because all the complications. I went to see the movie with my mom, and I was actually slightly embarassed during certain parts - you know which ones :)

  6. I didn't know the sequel hadn't been green lighted. I thought the first film did pretty well. I still haven't seen it, but I'm planning to.
