vacation: reading list

king louie and i laughed that if we got searched by security in the airport they would look around for our twelve year old daughter.  i'm not sure if it more sad that we could have a twelve year old daughter without it being an after school special situation or if we don't have a twelve year old daughter and we were reading these teen books ourselves.  king louie read the entire hunger games triology and liked it in puerto vallarta.  i'm so excited because that means we get to go see the movie tomorrow!  i'm quite used to being a day late and a dollar short on what is hip and cool in the real world so my viewing it a month later than everyone else is right on time for me.

speaking of me, i read the first three books in the twilight saga.  i so hope you all don't think less of me.  i've seen all the movies and while king louie and i have fun awkwardly fake staring at each other in complete mockery we actually like them.  i think it is a decent of enough story and i wanted to read the books because a friend told me that you do you'll understand the movies better.  the books were perfect for the beach.  i didn't have to think too hard and i had a lot of my back story questions answered.  that being said, bella is a pill who needs to get a grip.  if i had to read about her getting lost in edward's amber eyes, how his perfect body was as cold as marble or how she had to be on suicide watch if she was away from him for longer than fifteen minutes one more time, i was going to freak out.  that being said, i tore through those babies wanting to know what was going to happen even though i'd already seen the movies.  i'm also excited to read the last one.  to further demonstrate how i'm often missing the boat on what's hip and cool, i don't know how they end.  my knowledge ceases with the end of the fourth movie, so don't ruin it for me, okay?

  1. What did you think of HG series? The movie was pretty close to the book for the most part. I liked it!

  2. I fully approve of all of your reading choices! I thought the Twilight books were SO much better than the movies.

  3. It's ok, I'm always miles behind the "in crowd" I still haven't seen the twilight movies (although I have read the books) and I haven't read the hunger game either.

  6. Wow, I'm impressed with all of your reading. I haven't read, and probably won't read, the Twilight series. I did read The Hunger Games, and I'm in the midst of the Fifty Shades trilogy, but that's extremely different from those other two series. Glad you got to enjoy lots of reading :)

  7. I read all three of the Hunger Games books while on my honeymoon last month. It was the first leisure reading I had done since before law school years ago. I LOVED THEM!! I am now dying to read another set of books that will similarly intrigue me all hours of the day and night.
