yoga: inspiration found

well, at least i made it through yesterday.  i set the alarm on my phone for an hour and fifteen minutes so i knew there was an ending point.  it really is amazing how once i get going i usually get into it.  it might sound strange but i listen to a classical guitar pandora station when i practice.  once or twice during every practice a spanish style song will come on and i feel like i'm dancing.  it is pretty cool when the poses just flow.  this is probably because so much of my time is spent toppling over that when everything locks in it is like magic.

i really appreciated your comments about how it is difficult to practice at home.  i completely agree and sometimes i feel like it should be easy.  i have the mat, i have the time and i have a few practices to choose from.  on yoga blogs people are always posting how they can't wait to get on their mats and for me most days are an internal battle to just do it.  i actually find this in a lot of blogs: exercise, baking, crafting.  sometimes i wonder if i'm the only average person out there who isn't a specialist in anything other than being me.  wow, this is a little philosophical for a friday morning.

let's turn to something more exciting.  like springing ahead this weekend.  i know it will be frighteningly dark in the mornings but there's something about the sunshine that lasts well into the evening.  i can walk outside again after work and there's hope that summer will come.  don't forget to spring ahead.  happy friday!!

  2. that's a great idea to set a timer! seriously, i'd never thought of that. i usually say something like, i'll do kettlebell for 1 tv show but i rarely finish the whole thing. timer + music only = genius.

  3. I know what you mean about feeling like everyone is a specialist. I feel like we have so much to live up to these days with all these fancy parties, beautifully decorated homes, crafty food, etc. on Pinterest and everywhere else on the internet. I just have to be honest with myself and realize that's not who I am.

  4. Awww fudge! I totally forgot that we spring ahead this weekend! And as for practicing, you are not alone!!! It's usually a huge battle for me to get myself to the gym or out on the road to run. I don't know why because once I'm doing it, it makes me so happy, but it's getting there that's the hard part...

  6. I normally can only practice for about 30 minutes when I practice by myself. I'm just not that inspired. and it is also mostly a struggle for me to get on the mat (well, kind of, once I build it into my routine it's good :)
